Answer: The narrator is a veterinary surgeon. He is a very practical man. He is tactful also and has a lot of common sense. As soon as he sees Tricki, he understands his illness. He persuades Mrs Pumphrey to send the dog to his hospital. There he keeps a watch on his diet and brings improvement in his condition.
